Exhibition Work

Mishca and Myself are installing a piece of work based on this project in an exhibition this friday the 13th of March to celebrate the opening of our schools new building and Gallery Space. This is our Artist statement for the work. It makes use of wireless and wired surveillance apparatus:

"///FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION SECURITY CAMERAS IN OPERATION

From a very young age we are taught to sift out that which is an irregularity. In today’s society one such misconceived irregularity is surveillance. This building is holding an official opening today, a regional politician and other guests, with varying degrees of involvement in the completion of the building, were sent invites. A feature of this building is the gallery in which you are currently standing. Our class requested the first use of this new gallery space for Friday the 13th of March. The date coincided with this opening and gave us the opportunity to move our surveillance system from a public area into an invite only (private) opening. Consequentially, even though it is our work that you are about to see we still had to ask to get an invite."
